    Pregnancy

Pregnancy is not an illness – it is a perfectly normal physiological event, another cycle in a woman’s sexual and reproducttive life. As a naturopath, I certainly don’t believe it’s necessary for a woman to suffer a long list of complaints and discom- forts in order to have a child.

Every aspect of your reproductive health is dependent on an adequate supply of vitamins, minerals, proteins and fats. However, the vast majority of people in our society have nutrient deficient diets.

Knowledge is power. I can help you become informed about ways to enhance your health and your baby’s development during pregnancy. Avoid certain foods eg. Soft cheeses, refined carbohydrates and sugars, and avoid alcohol and ciga- rette smoke. Be aware of the effects of stress, chemical exposure, airline flights, and x-rays on your baby’s development and your health.

Many of the physical conditions which are considered par for the course when you’re pregnant can be prevented or can be readily treated by natural means.

Pregnancy is a normal, healthy part of life to be enjoyed rather than endured.
